When a messy millennial underachiever accidentally gets alien-pregnant, she must overcome skeptical doctors, a useless baby daddy, and her oversharing mum in order to survive and reclaim her life.
Pregnancy can be a time of excitement and celebration for many who have planned their lives to go off on a certain trajectory that welcomes a child into the mix. However, none of those adjectives are words to describe the overall vibes of the debut feature-length production from THUNDERLIPS. Titled Mum, I’m Alien Pregnant, the absurdly comedic body horror flick is slated to make first contact with global audiences during the upcoming Sundance Film Festival, where it will screen as part of the event’s Midnight Section.
Hasteful decisions are made in Mum, I’m Alien Pregnant, after Mary (Hannah Lynch) and Boo (Arlo Green) conceive a child together. With no real plan about how to care for the baby on the way, both 20-somethings reach out to their own personal lifeboats — their mums, who also happen to be each party’s respective roommate. To make matters worse, Boo is a certified galactic alien, a fact that calls into question the morality surrounding an abortion, but before they can make up their minds, the baby speedily makes its way into the universe. With no skills to take care of her alien baby and an "absolutely not" attitude, Mary peaces out, leaving Boo (and his mum) on their own with the new bundle of joy.
The film also features the talents of Yvette Parsons, Jackie van Beek, and Jonny Brugh. Watch an exclusive excerpt below.
